Efficient production is one of Fassmer’s strategic imperatives. Among other things, the company manufactures aluminium nacelles and spinner covers for wind generators.
In exactly the same way as in shipbuilding or plant construction, Fassmer combines conventional metal inert gas welding (MIG) with tractor welders and tungsten inert gas welding (TIG). Thanks to the combination of these methods, the controlled heat input, which is caused by high welding speeds and a high weld penetration, can be made best use of.
In order to make the three-dimensional nacelles and spinner covers transportable, sometimes as many as several dozen elements of different shapes and sizes are produced. Depending on the customer’s requirements, these can be further treated by varnishing or stand-blasting, to achieve a consistent, high-quality appearance.
