In November 2011, Fugro OSAE GmbH ordered a 40m Offshore Survey Coastal Vessel from Fassmer Shipyard in Berne.
The FOSCV40 is designed to be used in different offshore survey market segments, e.g. hydrography, environmental baseline surveys, route-and-site-surveys, pipeline inspections and more, operating around the world. It is perfectly fitted for its future assignments, even in rough meteorological conditions up to sea state 5, with a Dynamic Positioning System Class 1, excellent manoeuvring characteristics thanks to a twin-rudder propeller arrangement in combination with an effective bow thruster, and a maximum speed of 11 knots.
